We are looking for passionate travelers all over the world, who would like to write with us!

The British just have a way of taking you to a zone between reality and fantasy. A wonderful transition from the 1960’s to the present, Heathrow bears travelling hush power of the British made Vickers VC10 to at the time was London airport.

British Airways 1989: Possibly one of the most iconic ads of all times.
The concept possibly started at the Moscow Olympics in 1980 but British Airways took it a whole lot further. Brilliant.

Pan Am 1969: The Boeing 747 was to be a game changer and Pan American Airways, affectionately known as Pan Am were the first to fly it commercially. This ad has been brilliantly remixed in colour and clarity.

TWA 1985: The heyday of American commercial aviation with Trans World Airways or TWA as a market leader.

Ansett 1970: A stunning ad where the magnificence of a black swan in flight is transformed with the help of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg and “Morning Mood” from Peer Gynt suite, into a sparkling Boeing 727 of Australian carrier Ansett. I worked for Ansett during this time and the ad still gives me goose bumps.

TAA 1972: Trans Australia Airlines better known as TAA were “Up, up and away” with a few minor lyrical changes to the Fifth Dimension’s song. It made you want to fly.

American Express 1970’s: Karl Malden was the face of American Express Travellers Cheques. “Don’t leave home without them”. And we didn’t. I had a foreign exchange bureau in the80’s & 90’s and sold plenty.

Southwest 1972: If the service doesn’t exist put a leggy flight attendant as the main attraction.

BOAC 1960: Capt. Bristow was synonymous with BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) and coupled with Sergeant Major in the cabin you couldn’t be in better hands.

BOAC 1960’s: It looks superb but imagine flying the British built Vickers VC10 Melbourne – Sydney – Nadi – Honolulu – Los Angeles – New Your – London. It’s a long way.

Qantas 2009: Qantas (Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services) has always marketed itself well and the introduction of the Airbus A380 is no exception. It brings the history, the magnificent outback and an iconic tune together.

KLM 1990’s: A well-co-ordinated and funny similarity of a swan preparing for take-off and that of an aircraft. So well done. KLM is short for Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij in case you didn’t know.

Virgin Atlantic 2009: Only Richard Branson can do it so well. Breaks every sexist rule in the book. Brilliant controversial ad.

Alitalia 2008: It is quintessentially Italy. It’s elegant, sexy, suggestive and provocative. It’s politically incorrect but who cares?

Cathay Pacific 1985: It seems Cathay Pacific were only interested in male passengers at this time. The women it seems were just to serve.

Cathay Pacific 1980’s: A wonderful time to fly to Hong Kong and no one better than Cathay Pacific to take you into Kai Tak airport with its  breath taking landing. I always said your sightseeing started before you landed. Put Barry Whites “Love Theme” to it and you have a brilliant ad.

Singapore Airlines 2012: A brilliant production showing that “Singapore Girl” hasn’t lost any of her charms. A walk through world. Sensational.

Cathay Pacific 2015: Rugby 7’s has been synonymous with Hong Kong for over 40 years. It’s party time and this ad doesn’t hold back.
